Peru
is not normally seen as a rum producing nation but sugar cane is
grown in the higher central regions and fine spirit produced.
This example was distilled on a column still from molasses
and matured in used Bourbon casks for eight years in the high cool
mountain air before it was shipped to the U.K.
It
shows considerable colour and soft deep nose with sweet round
fruit and a hint of spice. The
wood is soft and the palate has a medium weight of flavour
together with a soft lingering finish.
